In School Workshops

Solar Power Education leads workshops for Foundation Stage to Key Stage 3 children.  Each workshop is designed to meet the needs of the class and its topic.  Some examples of workshops which can be delivered are below.

Solar Power Experiments

Hands on and exciting.  Children can experiment with solar panels in series and parallel, predict whether they can increase the output of a solar panel and investigate which direction and angle they should face to achieve the highest output.

Carbon Footprint Study

Including a quiz on how electricity is made children are challenged to work out how much electricity they use.  Suitable for KS2 and KS3.

Solar Power Presentation and Q+A

For classes new to solar power and to solar farms this presentation covers the 'Who', 'What', "Where', 'When' and 'Why' of solar farms.  Children are encouraged to take notes and to use these to create an information leaflet or to lead into a discussion piece or a debate on the subject

Solar Car Racing

A Design and Technology project which can be delivered over a day.  Children design, make, test and race their own solar powered cars.
